North Yorkshire Council is consulting on the following two documents:
The Scoping Consultation Document which seeks views on;
- the scope of the local plan,
- the key priorities for the vision,
- identifying locally specific matters and how the local plan can help to address them,
- options for how future growth can be delivered in the plan area, and
- the evidence required to support the plan
The Draft Engagement Strategy which seeks views on;
- how the council proposes to engage with the local community and stakeholders in preparation of the local plan.
Comments are invited from Monday 26 October 2026 to Monday 7 December 2026 (midnight).

All relevant comments received during the consultation period will be considered by the Council to inform future stages of local plan preparation.
